I got an interesting insider information from an university located in a province north of Hubei and south of Hebei.
The school dean in that university is very tolerant and open-minded. You may not find any dean as good as his is. The rumor is about there is an underground dean among sea turtles, and he is not even a Chinese, but a white (not so white).
He is more a party member than a real party member. He would like to tease other faculties with different political opinions. Maybe he is eager to show his loyalty to the party for more fundings of the conferences. And it is not allowed to wear any shirt with marks of your previous PhD institution. Because in his eyes, it implies you do not devote yourself enough to this university where you are currently working for.

*Reminder: Before you take the offer, do not forget to ask when you can sign the contract or get the contract signed by the university president. I heard some new recruits cannot get the contract from the unviersity until late September or early October.
